Studio Lawrence wins design award for Raising Lantern, To Gather sofa

The awards are being organised by the German Design Council. The Raising Lantern had been introduced at the London Design Festival held in September 2011. Its design was conceived by Patrick de Louwere and Bart Eijking. The item features a host of stacked cylindrical forms which are interchangeable, thereby offering options of different configurations. The piece can shrink or increase to a maximum height of 3.50 metres. The lantern comes in a floorlamp as well as a pendant light version.

The To Gather sofa system, launched at Interieur, Kortrijk in 2010, incorporates a modular style. It comprises individual seats which can be connected with the help of different angled connectors, leading to varied compositions.
