Spool Inspired Furniture
August 25th, 2010 | by Catherine Boyd |Sure, you can go with traditional furniture that has four legs and a basic design, but where is the fun in that? Even if country living is your style, you can still fill in your space artistic and unique pieces that serve as a table or chair but look like something else.
The Spool Side Table from Ballard Designs is a cool find that is inspired by actual French spools. It’s crafted from mango wood, and wrapped around the middle is authentic manila rope. The top has St. Tropez usine de corde stenciled on the top, and the wood is stained with a medium brown finish.
In addition to being a unique piece, this table can also double as storage. The top lifts off, and you can put magazines in it or stuff it with blankets.
