King of Pop | ooo my design
March 21st, 2011 | by Catherine Boyd |The King of Pop is the latest project by ooo my design. The work is a tribute to our king of pop, the great artist who always carried a child within. Set of three ceramic sculptures representing the three major periods of the MJ (Michael Jackson) in the form of removable matryoshka doll.
MJ has always been a star and victim of its own popularity, which over the years was hiding his true nature and becoming more artificial. A child with great charisma, cheerful image and a spectacular voice. A young theatrical man that created the first video clips of high production values and marked a turning point in the history of music and dance. Finally, a pale, eccentric artist who kept adding to his face layers and layers of makeup. This project pays a tribute to MJ remembering three of the main phases of man with a thousand skins.
